Listen to your body!

on Wed 2 Mar

Did you know that every day our bodies send hundreds of thousands of messages to various cells, organs, systems and metabolic processes in order to keep things functioning in tip-top shape and in a state of homeostasis (a state of good health).

But sometimes, do you ever get the feeling that maybe something in your body is trying to tell you that something is wrong or is just not right?

3 Simple Tips to Listen to your body

1. Start to take note of your warning signs.

Our bodies send us warning signs when we it feels under considerable pressure. Any niggling warning signals like, sickness, colds, feeling lethargic, difficulties with sleep, mood swings, headaches. Keep a note and listen, it is our bodies way of telling us when we need more or less of something.

2. Be in tune with your feelings.

Lives are so busy nowadays, it’s constant 24/7. So naturally we do not have time to pause and listen to our bodies. The most simplistic way to tune in is to pause, breathe, and go within yourself and ask how you are feeling? What feels right and what doesn’t?

3. Start a self-care practice

Think about what you need to do to start caring for yourself and your needs. This often includes things like me time, pampering, rest and relaxation. Identify one thing that you can do to nurture and care for your body that day, eg drink more water, an early night, massage or pedicure. By doing this it will help you to connect to your body and needs, all highly beneficial for your health and wellbeing.
